Nemesis De Catalyst

Hi, welcome to my site. I consider this to be my home online and because of that I've created it in a "homely" fashion. Here is where I share about who I am and what I'm about.

My music is an extension of who I am and who I am is a result of my experiences. That's where music comes in.

It began in my parents home where my father had a gram (for those old enough to remember).

He used to play a combination of reggae and calypso

As a family we always watched Top of the pops, throughout the 70's and 80's and I was intrigued with the music as well as the live performances and how different artists presented themselves. It seemed to me that at that time each performer was so distinct from each other.

My brothers and sisters, listened to a combination of dub, soul, rare groove and lovers rock. I used to hate listening to that stuff in raves, but for some reason I would listen to it at home?

When I came of age, I started listening to Hip Hop (and breakdancing). This was from the early 80's until about 1986/7. This is when I started listening to dancehall music. I would mimic my favourite artists and pretend I was on a sound system.  I performed on a few sounds as well as I grew in confidence.

The music scene at that time was synonymous with drug use, not only within dancehall, but the Acid scene, which I was interested in although not captivated. It was also around this time that Jungle was emerging, which is probably the fore runner of Grime.

Around this time I became a Christian and became immersed in the church and gospel music.

Amazingly my love and involvement in Dancehall music continued (albeit with a gospel message) and I found greater opportunities to perform than I had in the "world".

Since this time, I have been working on various music projects, of which you can find on this site, as well as Reverbnation, Soundcloud, Youtube, Facebook and MySpace. I also use forums such as Instagram and Twitter for sharing what I'm working on.

Thanks for stopping by and once again, welcome...
